Congratulations to Cheryl Skillman, our Gift It Forward social media contest winner! She won $500 for herself, and a $500 donation was made in her name to CEDARS in Lincoln.

A former CEDARS employee, Cheryl says she chose the organization “because of their positive impact in our community.” The 75-year-old nonprofit helps kids and families achieve safety, stability, and enduring family relationships through services like foster care, emergency shelter for youth, independent living for teenagers, and more. Last year alone, they cared for 2,377 kids and families.

Cheryl joined MembersOwn 20 years ago after multiple friends told her about their positive experiences.

“The biggest thing that stands out to me about the credit union is the staff,” Cheryl said. “They’re so friendly and working with them, it’s like working with a friend and a partner, truly.”
